General Management
Richard (Dick) Birley, President, has been involved in all aspects of the reinforcing steel industry for 45 years. He has worked on projects all over the world and has been an Expert Witness in legal cases in both Canada and the Unites States.
Dick is a member of the American Concrete Institute and serves on Committees 439 – Reinforcing Steel, 131 – Building Information Modeling, 315 – Rebar Detailing, and is chairman of Sub-committee 315-B – Constructibility. He has written a number of articles for Concrete International and made presentations before various Sessions of ACI.
Mihaela Birley is Manager of Detailing Services, responsible for production and Quality Assurance programs. She supervises our ISO 9001-2008 Certification as well as setting up procedures for Condor's compliance with NQA-1 nuclear specifications and requirements. She is a graduate engineer and has been with Condor for twelve years. She serves on ACI Committees 121 – Quality Assurance Systems for Concrete, 131 – Building Information Modeling, and 315 – Rebar Detailing.
Vuceta (Vule) Petrovic worked for a number of years in our Vancouver office as Detailing Manager until he opened our Belgrade office in 2001. He is a graduate engineer with practical experience in the rebar industry. He currently supervises a team of 12 detailing engineers.
Management of Software Development
Greg Birley, Vice-president, has been involved in all aspects of the reinforcing steel industry for 30 years. He serves on ACI Committees 117 – Tolerances, 315 - Rebar Detailing, and 131 – Building Information Modeling. He has written articles for Concrete International and has made presentations before various Sessions of ACI. He is responsible for our Condor Software division and provides the vision for our new 3D modeling system.
David Anderson (founder and co-owner of Genify - www.genify.com) is the Project Leader, working directly with Greg Birley, adapting Greg's domain knowledge to the 3-D world using techniques that were first developed in the video games industry. These tools enable the complex world of rebar to be modeled quickly and accurately. Dave has been a Computer Science professional since 1975, working progressively on many software architectures as they evolved. He has been project manager and team leader under contract with such companies as Ford, AMEX, State Farm, and USAA. He is a Microsoft "Partner" and is currently one of the very first persons to implement Microsoft's DirectX 11, a recently released tool that allows us to build our own ultra-high speed graphics engine to operate on the Windows 7 platform.
